1988年旅居纽约
1989年流浪欧洲
1990年起一半的时间隐居上海 往来两岸
1998年正式成立上海个人建筑设计工作室
旋即以苏州河畔仓库改装的工作室 推动河畔仓库群的保护与再利用引领上海艺术工作特区风潮 甚而影响上海市府的苏州河整治计画的文化景观思考 幷得以保护了苏州河畔成偏的仓库
2004年 获得联合国教科文组织颁发的联合国亚太文化遗产保护奖
同时并创立上海滨江创意产业园 并呼吁推动黄浦江沿岸旧工业文化遗产的保护与再利用 与创意产业的整合并获得市政建设的支持同时赢来更大国际建筑掌声
Teng Kun Yen
Born in 1951.
He was brought up in Taipei, Taiwan.
Architect and writer.
Graduated from Pingdong College of Agriculture.
Architectural apprentice in the design studio of famous architect Han Baode for 12 years.
Founding his own design studio in 1985.
His milestone works in 1980s’ include “Nostalgic Café” and “Apoclypse Beerhaus” which paved the way for urban living space revolution in postmodern Taiwan.
From 1990 to 1998, he flied back and forth between Taiwan and the mainland. For half of the time he lived in Shanghai like a hermit.
In 1998, He formally founded his architectural design studio in Shanghai.
The studio itself, a renovated warehouse by Suzhou Creek, brought in many artists to work or live in the area. With its new status as Shanghai’s Soho, the area has attracted public attention in discussions on culture and landscape of the Suzhou Creek in the new map of Shanghai.
In 2004, He acquired UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage awards for Culture Heritage Conservation, also founded "creative shanghai" at the same time. He encouraged and developed the cultural heritage of the industrial age along the Shore of Huangpu River, also receive international recognition and applause from the government of Shanghai for actively protect and reuse creative products. |
